Heart-Centered Preaching: Crafting Messages that Reflect God's Abundance

Bio

Leading with the simple motto, “I just want to do God’s will,” Pastor Christopher R. Boston serves Christ and
community with passion and purpose.

Pastor Boston was ordained into the Gospel ministry in 2002 and installed the Senior Pastor of the
Lamb of God Missionary Baptist Church of Milwaukee, Wisconsin in September 2012. He is the third pastor in the 68 year history of the church. Prior to his pastoral call, he served under the leadership of the Rev. Dr. Archie L. Ivy as an Associate Minister at the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church of Milwaukee.

Pastor Boston has a depth of experience in community life. Previously, he worked as Director of
Sustainable Communities for the Milwaukee office of the Local Initiative Support Corporation (LISC), the nation’s largest Community Development Financial Institution. Prior to his tenure at LISC, he labored as a steward of social justice and equality as the Lead Organizer/Director of Milwaukee Inner-city Congregations Allied for Hope (MICAH). There, he led the agency in growth and social reforms through new initiatives such as Holy Ground and “The People’s Campaign.” Under his direction, MICAH was instrumental in the passage of the Milwaukee Opportunities for Restoring Employment (MORE) ordinance and the Park East Redevelopment Compact (PERC) to ensure fair wage and employment standards on any future development of the land where Fiserv Forum now sits as well as surrounding parcels. Pastor Boston is called upon to speak at conferences and facilitate workshops on faith and social justice, community organizing and civic
engagement. Pastor Boston studied Management at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
Additionally, he is a two-time fellow of the Aspen Institute Roundtable on Community Change Seminar
on Racial Equity and Society.

Through his service, Pastor Boston has received many recognitions including: “Emerging
Leader” by the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation at the request of Congresswoman Gwen
Moore, selection to the 20th class of the Business Journal's "40 Under 40" profile of Milwaukee leaders;

Changer; and recipient of the Doug Jannson Leadership Award by the Greater Milwaukee Foundation,
and Legacy Award by the Corridor Corporation. He further demonstrates leadership in serving on
many boards and advisory committees, including General Secretary of the Wisconsin General Baptist
State Convention (WGBSC) in the administration of President Keith T. Evans, The Corridor Corp, The
Salvation Army of Milwaukee County, and founding member of the African American Leadership
Alliance of Milwaukee (AALAM). Raised in the City of Milwaukee, Pastor Boston is a staunch advocate
his community and leads passionately for a more just and equitable society.

While Pastor Boston is driven by his passion to serve God’s people, the love of his family is what
drives him mostly. He is a devoted husband to Mrs. Tonnie Boston and proud father of twin boys, Terak
Christopher Boston, and Caius Torrie Boston.
